Overview
Module 2 delves deeply into advanced robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) applications, providing partcipants with a comprehensive understanding of the latest advancements and their practical implications across industries. The module begins by exploring advanced robotics technologies, including collaborative robots (cobots), autonomous mobile robots, exoskeletons, and industrial automation solutions, covering design principles, control mechanisms, and programming techniques. Moving on, the module delves into the practical applications of AI across different domains such as manufacturing, healthcare, logistics and finance. It explores machine learning algorithms, natural language processing (NLP), computer vision applications, predictive analytics models, and AI-driven decision-making processes. Moreover, the module also emphasises the critical aspect of human-robot interaction, examining human-robot collaboration strategies to ensure safe and efficient interaction between humans and robots in shared workspaces. Lastly, the module addresses ethical implications related to AI technologies such as bias mitigation strategies in machine learning models or privacy concerns associated with data collection for AI applications. Through hands-on activities, case studies, and discussions, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of advanced robotics and AI applications responsibly and innovatively.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
- Understand the principles and concepts of advanced robotics and artificial intelligence, including machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and deep learning techniques
- Develop proficiency in programming languages commonly used in advanced robotics and artificial intelligence applications, such as Python or C++.
- Gain practical experience in designing and implementing robotic systems with integrated artificial intelligence capabilities for real-world industrial automation scenarios
- Analyse ethical considerations related to the use of advanced robotics and artificial intelligence technologies in the digital economy, including privacy concerns, job displacement, and societal impact
- Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot complex issues that may arise when deploying advanced robotics and artificial intelligence solutions within a digital economy context, utilising problem-solving skills to optimise system performance
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.
