Overview
In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, automation stands out as a cornerstone of efficiency and innovation. Our program places a strong emphasis on automation technologies, including robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics. Participants will develop proficiency in harnessing these tools to drive efficiency, foster innovation, and catalyze growth across diverse industries. The curriculum encompasses themes such as process automation, smart manufacturing, digital transformation strategies, and cybersecurity for automated systems. Through a blend of theoretical instruction and hands-on experience, participants will gain comprehensive insights into applied automation principles and tools. Emphasis is placed on cultivating industry-relevant skills including problem-solving, critical thinking, project management, and communication. Participants will emerge well-equipped to pursue roles in automation engineering, digital transformation consulting, data analysis for optimising automated systems, or entrepreneurship within the digital economy landscape.
Topic/Structure
To achieve the Advanced Certificate in Applied Automation in the Digital Economy, participants will need to complete the following modules offered by SMU Academy:
Module 1: Introduction to Automation in the Digital Economy
Module 2: Advanced Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications
Module 3: Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Smart Manufacturing
Module 4: Data Analytics for Automation Decision Making
Module 5: Cybersecurity in Automated Systems
Module 6: Ethical and Legal Considerations in Applied Automation
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment for each of the 6 modules within 3 years in order to be awarded the digital Advanced Certificate in Applied Automation in the Digital Economy issued by Singapore Management University.
