- Analytics & Tech
- Finance & Investment
- Innovation & Business Improvement
This module is conducted in-person.
2 Full Days (Weekdays)
Who Should Attend
- Professionals in industrial automation, manufacturing, engineering, and technology sectors keen to boost expertise in IIoT and smart manufacturing, including those in production, quality assurance, process optimisation, and supply chain management.
PREREQUISITES
There are no prerequisites for this programme. Prior knowledge on any of the topics is not required.
Overview
Module 3 offers participants a comprehensive insight of the integration of digital technologies into industrial processes. It covers key concepts such as sensor networks, data analytics, cyberphysical systems, and connectivity protocols that form the foundation of industrial internet of things (IIoT). Participants will explore how IIoT enables smart manufacturing by facilitating real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and process optimisation. They will also learn about the implementation of advanced automation techniques using IIoT to enhance productivity, quality control, and resource efficiency in manufacturing environments. Through case studies and practical exercises, participants will gain hands-on experience in designing IIoT solutions for various industrial applications. Additionally, they will examine the challenges related to cybersecurity, interoperability, and scalability when deploying IIoT systems in complex manufacturing settings. By the end of the module, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to leverage IIoT technologies for driving innovation and competitiveness within modern industrial operations.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
- Understand the fundamental principles and concepts of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and its application in smart manufacturing processes
- Analyse the impact of IIoT on traditional industrial automation systems and identify opportunities for optimisation and efficiency improvement
- Evaluate the integration of sensor technologies, data analytics, and cloud computing in IIoT applications to enhance real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance in smart manufacturing environments
- Demonstrate proficiency in designing and implementing IIoT solutions for specific industrial use cases, considering factors such as security, interoperability, and scalability
- Critically assess the ethical considerations, cybersecurity challenges, and regulatory requirements associated with deploying IIoT technologies within a smart manufacturing framework
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.
