Testimonials

After taking SMU Academy’s ACEME programme, I greatly benefitted from the many skills taught, most importantly from the module on presentation. From perfecting your elevator pitch to learning about the hamburger model, Kelly and Danny ensured that all course participants grew to be confident in the "art-of-the-sell" by the end of the course. I will recommend this course to everyone looking to improve their success rate with making deals.

I strongly encourage anyone who is involved in events to embark on this course which covers from pre to post event management, including a project work where you get to apply the knowledge. In addition, you get useful insights from professionals of various expertise that are essential for the success of an event. The learning journey was fun - covering communication skills specifically on pitching to potential sponsors, technical skills for sound systems, calculation of physical event space and much more.
Emmeline Chan
Danny and Kelly were phenomenal, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself throughout all 6 modules. Despite everything being entirely online because of the COVID-19 situation, the sessions were very engaging. The course curriculum included a wide coverage of topics that are very current and included many interesting speakers. I found the concepts to be easily applicable in other areas as well. I was also able to immediately apply the things I learnt in my work. This course is definitely relevant even for people who are not in the event industry full-time. I have no doubt that anybody who join the class will thoroughly enjoy the 6 modules.
Loh Ying Ting
I highly recommend the course for anyone interested in the events and entertainment space, regardless of whether you are in or out of the industry. The course content is well structured to take participants through the entire process, from pre-planning to post event. But the biggest plus point is the trainers, Danny and Kelly, both industry veterans who are incredibly engaging and have much valuable experience to share. Participants can be sure to take away skills that they can apply across occupations, including concept creation and sales pitching. The course not only offers a current view into the events industry as it adjusts and evolves post-COVID, but a wide range of guest speakers with insights in their own fields. A truly enjoyable course from start to end.
Jessica Chia
Danny and Kelly managed to fill each class with generous sharing of their industry knowledge and personal experiences. Due to the current health and economic crisis, we also had many discussions on how the local event and entertainment scenes had to pivot and learn first-hand how the global big boys were experimenting to keep their businesses alive. It was also engaging experience, learning and exchanging notes with guest speakers who are all veterans in their own fields. In the end, the rich contents won over the zoom fatigue after each class. I would recommend this course to anyone who would like to master the skills in strategies for events such content curation, pitching for sponsorship, and handling operations such as scheduling of programmes to budget and production.
