Overview

The world of business is transforming rapidly with digitalisation and automation, and this has a great impact on the kind of skills and competencies that the workforce has to possess in order to stay relevant, employable and engaged. In this 1-day workshop, you will first understand your organisation by putting yourself in the shoes of the CEO using a renowned business strategy model. Followed by learning practical methods in understanding and assessing workforce needs in any digitally transformed business and identify the gaps using the Skills Framework by Skills Future Singapore (SSG). You will also be introduced to the various ongoing funding support and schemes available to Singapore based companies to upskill your local workforce. 

Learning Objectives

At the end of the 1-day module, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the key factors that are driving digital transformation of businesses
  • Relate the key factors to the changing demands placed on human capital and the workforce
  • Use the Skills Framework to assess the skills and competencies required to plug existing gaps and upskill the workforce

Topic/Structure

  • What is digital transformation and the impact on businesses
  • Understanding your organisation with the Business Model Canvas methodology
  • The SWOT on HR in the digital transformation
  • Using workforce competency frameworks and their resources to assess workforce developmental needs
  • Referencing other global competency frameworks and adapting it for use
  • Creating a skills development roadmap for the business
  • Leveraging on the funding and support schemes to support the implementation of the roadmap

Assessment

Participants have to meet a minimum attendance rate of 75% and have to complete all assessment(s) required by the course. Only upon meeting the minimum attendance and passing the assessment will participants be issued a Certificate of Completion.

Participants who fail the assessment will be given a chance for re-assessment at a fee of SGD100.00 (excluding prevailing GST). Each participant is allowed 1 re-assessment. The re-assessment has to be taken within 7 calendar days from the end of the course date. It will be held on a weekday specified by SMU Academy and conducted during office hours. Please note that re-assessment fees are not supported by SSG Funding.

Participants who meet the minimum attendance rate but do not achieve a pass for the assessment will be issued a Certificate of Participation.

Participants are required to bring their laptop to access the course materials, class exercises and individual assessment(s).

In order to be awarded with Advanced Certificate in Future Workforce Architecture, participants are required to complete all 7 modules within 2 years.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman

With expertise in Strategic HR, Remuneration, and HR Analytics, Dr. Diez holds certifications as an IHRP Master Professional, Global Remuneration Professional, Senior HR Professional, and Fellow of SID.
