Overview
Module 5 is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the strategies and technologies necessary to develop and maintain environmentally sustainable IT infrastructure. The module will cover topics such as energy-efficient data centers, virtualisation, cloud computing, renewable energy integration, and sustainable hardware design. Participants will also explore best practices for reducing electronic waste and minimizing the environmental impact of IT operations. Through case studies and practical exercises, participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to implement eco-friendly IT infrastructure practices within their organisations, contributing to overall sustainability goals.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
- Understand the principles of eco-friendly IT infrastructure and its impact on environmental sustainability
- Identify and evaluate green AI, green Fintech, green vehicle, green building, and green finance technologies for their potential to reduce carbon footprint.
- Analyse the best practices for implementing eco-friendly IT infrastructure in various organisational settings
- Develop strategies to integrate sustainable technology solutions into existing IT infrastructures to minimize energy consumption and waste generation
- Assess the financial implications of adopting eco-friendly IT infrastructure practices and formulate cost-effective implementation plans for organisations
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
