Who Should Attend
This certificate is designed for entry level employees in supply chain management. It is also helpful for executives who are new to supply chains or a specific domain, people re-entering the job market and experienced employees looking to work with commercial opportunities.
PREREQUISITES
There are no prerequisites for this programme. Prior knowledge on any of the topics is not required.
Overview
This module seeks to develop a strong foundational understanding of the regulatory challenges to logistics and supply chain management in Asia. The training is relevant to companies and individuals including those involved in the management of regional and cross border supply chain operations in Asia and any individuals seeking to expand their understanding of the regulatory challenges in this industry. The knowledge gained from this course can be applied across different business models and vertical sectors. Participants will have the opportunity to use the concepts learnt to their unique business through application exercises and group work.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the evolution of international trade theory and regulations
- Distinguish the effects and obligations of trade policies that are related to protectionism and also trade liberalisation regime
- Examine unfair practices and recognise rights and exclusivity in international trade to minimise anti-competitive practices, abuse of power and misrepresentation
- Define the differences between Free Trade Agreements, Trade Blocs and Trade Facilitation
- Recommend actions to be taken to comply with trade regulations and policies
- Propose appropriate trade strategies to maximise the organisation’s profits while minimising risks
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
