Overview
The programme explores advanced AWS architectural concepts, emphasising best practices for building robust and resilient architectures using key AWS services, such as Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS. From designing for fault tolerance to maximising performance, the curriculum covers the intricacies of architecting on AWS across diverse scenarios. Real-world case studies and practical exercises provide hands-on experience in architecting solutions for different use cases, blending theory with practical application.
Upon completion, participants will be prepared to undertake the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate exam, validating their ability to architect scalable and secure applications on the AWS platform. Ideal for aspiring cloud architects, this course delivers expertise needed to architect innovative and reliable cloud solutions.
Learning Objectives
- Understand core principles of architecting on Amazon Web Services (AWS), including scalability, elasticity, reliability and security
- Identify key services and features available in the AWS Cloud in account security, compute, storage, databases, networking, monitoring and automation
- Apply AWS well-architected best practices based on the AWS Well-Architected Framework to design and build resilient and highly available solutions on the AWS Cloud
- Analyse AWS services and features, across domains including account security, compute, storage and networking, to determine suitability for specific use cases while considering cost optimisation, performance efficiency, operational excellence, reliability, security and sustainability
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
