Overview
Through detailed instruction and practical exercises, participants will delve into the intricacies of automating and replicating network and system deployments. The course covers a broad spectrum of cloud operations, including the essential tasks of installing, configuring, automating, monitoring, securing, maintaining and troubleshooting AWS services, networks and systems. It places a strong emphasis on AWS-specific features, tools, and best practices, equipping learners with the expertise to implement state-of-the-art cloud operations strategies.
This comprehensive training ensures participants are well-prepared to handle the dynamic challenges of cloud operations, promoting operational excellence and security within the AWS cloud environment.
Learning Objectives
- Master cloud operations including deployment, monitoring, security, and optimisation using Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools
- Learn to effectively use services like AWS Command Line Interface, Systems Manager, and CloudFormation for automating and managing infrastructure as code
- Understand how to utilise AWS Organisations and Control Tower for centralised and efficient multi-account management
- Develop strategies for efficient resource management using Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Auto Scaling Groups, and EC2 Launch Templates
- Gain expertise in adjusting resources automatically to maintain optimal performance and cost management, and leverage AWS services for continuous monitoring and application-level insights
- Establish robust controls for secure access management, threat detection, and incident response using Identity and Access Management, Virtual Private Clouds, and CloudFront
- Learn to create and manage secure network environments, implement data backup and recovery strategies, and optimise costs through effective use of Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) and cost management tools
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
