Overview

In the journey to becoming fit, focusing on the small areas can make a big difference to achieve fitness goals effectively. Get equipped with the techniques of strength conditioning and cardiovascular exercises, and explore new ways to incorporate these pivotal movements that change your fitness game plan.

In this programme, participants will learn how to increase muscle strength, balance and coordination, leading to better fitness levels and overall health.

Learning Objectives

  • Fundamentals of good strength training technique
  • Fundamentals of good cardiovascular training programme design
  • How to build a training plan that is safe and effective for different goals

Topic/Structure

  • How to warm up effectively within 10 minutes
  • Choosing effective exercises when time is limited
  • Perform strength exercises for maximum safety and effectiveness
  • Structure an effective cardiovascular exercise routine
  • Learn breathing techniques to minimise injury risk
  • Plan an effective long-term training programme 
  • Modify a programme for sport or training goals

Assessment

  •  Practical demonstration
     

CERTIFICATION

Upon meeting the attendance and assessment criteria, participants will be awarded a digital certificate for participating in each module. Please refer to our course policies to view the attendance and assessment criteria. 

Upon completion of all modules required for this programme within a maximum duration of 3 years, participants will be awarded a digital certificate.

 

NROC members can earn up to 10 Continuing Coach Education (CCE) hours after completing all 6 modules of Certificate in Exercise Science Programme.

SkillsFuture Credit

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
  • Trainees are eligible for ETSS funding only if their company's SME status is approved prior to the course commencement date. To verify your SME's status, please click here.
