Who Should Attend
Anyone in the organisation/ business from c-suite members to analysts that has a hunger to innovate. The course is created to cater to all levels to learn, practice, and understand how to shape innovation culture to prepare themselves and their teams for the future.
PREREQUISITES
There are no prerequisites for this programme. Prior knowledge on any of the topics is not required.
Overview
This interactive two-day class is designed to provide practical guidance to transform mindsets and strengthen innovation culture with organisations be they financial service firms or SMEs. These important principles a valid across the board.
Everyone can learn to be more innovative. The course explores how powerful the growth mindset is. Participants will be introduced to four fundamental ingredients that contribute to a culture conducive to innovation. This course includes hands-on activities for participants to practice newly learned skills and discuss practical considerations. The course also discusses the innovation culture framework which consists of leadership, environments, systems & processes, passion & grit. Participants will graduate from this class as an Innovation Culture Catalyst; someone who is equipped with tools to help shape company culture and promote creativity amongst the team.
Learning Objectives
- Learn, practise and plan using 4 foundational aspects of shaping innovation culture and mindset in their organisation
- Understand and learn the role of the leader in innovation
- Explore the impact of environments to foster Innovation and Creativity through utilising design
- Learn about Innovation systems and processes and develop an understanding and importance of emotional connection, passion, perseverance and grit in developing sustainable innovation
Participants will be able to earn 14 CPD Points awarded by CPA Australia when they attend this module.
Topic/Structure
Innovation Culture Catalyst
Culture is the foundation for all innovation efforts. Methods and technologies cannot be successfully implemented without the right culture and mindset.
COURSE CONTENT
Part 1: Leadership
- Mindset (Fixed vs. Growth)
- Everyone Can Innovate
- Innovation Definitions – It’s the Starting Point That Matters
- It’s a Team Sport
- The Balance Between Knowing and Experimenting
At the end of this segment, participants will learn how the innovation mindset makes a crucial difference in creating novel propositions and solutions. They will understand how leaders need to create a movement around their efforts. Through hands-on exercises, participants will understand the importance of experimentation.
Part 2: Environments
- Physical Space
- Mental Space
- Impact of Digital Environments
This segment focuses on the importance of physical and mental environments to support creativity. Participants will see examples of how environments can shape one’s mood, state of mind and productivity.
Part 3: Systems & Processes
- Systems & Processes are a Medium-Term Game
- How to Achieve Optimal Results with Your Innovation Strategy
This segment examines innovation systems and processes in organisations outside of financial services. We discuss how change programs need to consider existing culture, capabilities and processes to be successful. Cultural change does not happen overnight. Participants will learn how to support longer-term innovation program and identify quick wins and the same time.

Here the course will touch on the fuel of innovation – passion. Participants will explore how it can be harnessed to develop sustainable innovation and how persistence and practise are essential components to any change initiative.
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
