If you want your message to stick and inspire, understanding this distinction is key – and precisely what this storytelling course will empower you to do. While often relegated to casual settings, the ability to craft compelling narratives is an enduring and essential professional skill. Storytelling, a cornerstone of human connection, plays a pivotal role in various business contexts, including deal negotiation, stakeholder engagement and brand communication. By connecting with audiences on an emotional level, stories enhance information retention and drive desired actions across various communication channels, including presentations, written reports, and data visualisation.
This two-day interactive course is designed to help professionals understand the significant impact of storytelling and its practical applications in influencing organisational dynamics. Course participants will learn and implement established techniques for constructing narratives that evoke genuine emotion and project authenticity, ultimately enabling them to communicate their message with greater impact and confidence.

At the end of the 2-day course, participants will be able to:

Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module. The mode of assessment varies depending on the modules and it will be either an online quiz or group presentation.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.
This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
