Overview

Master the Art of Client Relationships: This course empowers participants with the essential skills to build, negotiate, and ultimately win client relationships.

In the first part of this course, participants will gain a good understanding of negotiation context, objectives and targeted outcomes as aligned with their organisation's positioning. Participants will also learn to appreciate the social and cultural differences that may affect negotiations, using relevant background information to better understand the other parties’ position, and achieve desired outcomes through negotiation techniques supported by proper recording.

The second part of the course focuses on implementing client relationship management (CRM) capabilities. Participants will use CRM tools to support client acquisition, engagement, account servicing, cross-selling, and analysis the impact of marketing and outreach on client relationships.

 

Learning Objectives

  • Successfully identify and articulate negotiation objectives and context in various commercial situations
  • Apply negotiation techniques effectively, considering social and cultural differences
  • Implement and leverage CRM tools and technologies to maximise client acquisition and engagement
  • Analyse and utilise customer data to enhance relationship management and drive sales outcomes
  • Document and evaluate negotiation processes for continuous improvement

Assessment

At the end of the course, participants will be assessed on their competencies acquired through the learnings via a quiz. 

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

IBF - STS Funding

Standards Training Scheme

The IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS) provides funding for training and assessment programmes accredited under the Skills Framework for Financial Services. It is applicable for both Company-Sponsored and Non Company-Sponsored individuals.

For training programmes commencing from 1 Jan 2023:

  • Individuals must be physically based in Singapore.
  • Singapore Citizens and PRs will be eligible for 50% funding of direct training cost.
  • Singapore Citizens aged 40 years old and above will be eligible for 70% co-funding of direct training cost.
  • Funding amount is capped at S$3,000 per participant per course.
  • Course fees subsidies will not apply to self-sponsored individuals who are not employed by financial institutions and Singapore FinTech Association certified FinTech firms for critical core skills (generic /soft skills) and future-enabled skill only courses.
  • Trainees are only eligible for a one-time grant of course fee subsidies for the course per calendar year, subject to their successful completion of the course.

He combines a deep understanding of markets and clients, strong technical knowledge, and people leadership to deliver a human-centred approach to wealth management. Kent also has a strong interest and experience in advising on family governance, wealth succession and crafting an enduring legacy. His graduate research at INSEAD focused on family dynamics and the intergenerational transfer of non-financial wealth in business families. He is also a qualified family business & wealth advisor through The Family Firm Institute. As principal coach and founder of Considered Choices, an executive coaching and training practice, Kent is dedicated to helping leaders and professionals develop purpose-driven leadership and make resonant life and career choices.

This course addresses the following Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) and proficiency level: 

  • Business Negotiation Proficiency Level 3
  • Customer Relationship Management Proficiency Level 3

Participants are encouraged to access the IBF MySkills Portfolio to track their training progress and skills acquisition against the Skills Framework for Financial Services. You can apply for IBF Certification after fulfilling the required number of Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) for the selected job role.
