SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- Functional Laptop: (1) CPU must be of at least intel core I3, (2) GPU must have an integrated graphics card and (3) RAM must be of at least 4GB
Overview
Participants will set up a ready-made Laravel back-end to get a glimpse on how the back-end framework runs, learn JavaScript and React, and finally set up a front-end web application that works with the given Laravel back-end.
This module is part of a sequential programme and is not available on a standalone basis.
Learning Objectives
- Name and understand broad differences across different frameworks for front-end (React, Vue, Angular) and back-end (Laravel, Django, Flask, Rails, Express) web development
- Install and set up a React front-end on Laravel
- Read and write basic JavaScript for use in React on the front-end
- Understand and use modern JavaScript language features from the ES6 specification, such as arrow functions, spread operators, and destructuring
- Work with state, props, and components to render HTML elements and apply CSS styles
- Work with rendering lists of data using FlatLists
Topic/Structure
- Introduction to front-end frameworks: React, Vue, Angular in JavaScript
- Setting up Laravel to use React on the front-end
- Introduction to JavaScript language with ES6 updates
- Introduction to React concepts: the shadow DOM, declarative programming, components, state
- Create a React-based front-end for a given back-end

CERTIFICATION
Upon meeting the attendance and assessment criteria, participants will be awarded a digital certificate for participating in each module. Please refer to our course policies to view the attendance and assessment criteria.
Upon completion of all modules required for this programme within a maximum duration of 3 years, participants will be awarded a digital certificate.
