PREREQUISITE

• Participants should preferably be a degree holder or a diploma holder with at least 3 years of relevant working experience

At the end of the 20-week course, participants will be able to:

• Appreciate the potential benefits and issues of this new technology
• Apply Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) to business productivity applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, and email
• Learn to approach and use GenAI for different tasks in various organisational context
• Understand how GenAI is being used with various platforms and tools such as websites, apps, social media, etc
• Evaluate and improve the performance and quality of conversation prompts using language models such as ChatGPT
• Use data to augment GenAI models
• Handle ethical and data protection issues related to GenAI such as transparency, accountability, etc

To achieve the (SCTP) Advanced Certificate in Generative AI, Ethics and Data Protection, participants will need to complete the following modules in sequential order:

• Module 1: A Practical Approach to Generative AI

Generative AI possesses various use cases for optimising business operations. It can be employed to automate workflows, create innovative products or services, optimise marketing campaigns and predict trends.

• Module 2: Prompt Engineering - Conversational AI and Design

Conversational artificial intelligence (AI) is a set of technologies that can recognise and respond to speech and text inputs. As AI improves and becomes more common in our daily lives, businesses need to learn how to leverage conversational AI for better service and greater efficiency.

• Module 3: Applications of Generative AI - Business Productivity and Human Resource

Generative AI is now reshaping the familiar business processes, boosting productivity and streamlining repetitive tasks. But what exactly are the use cases the technology offers to companies in different industry domains?

• Module 4: Application of Generative AI in Digital Marketing

Generative AI can streamline content creation for multiple channels, optimising it for each platform while maintaining consistent messaging. This means maximising resources and reducing time spent on content creation, freeing you up to craft the perfect marketing strategy, likely involving Generative AI.

• Module 5: Application of Generative AI in Learning Management

One of the most prominent applications of Generative AI in learning is the automation of content creation for digital learning materials.

• Module 6: Responsible Use and Ethical Management of Generative AI

In a few short months, Generative AI has become a very hot topic. Looking beyond the hype, Generative AI is a groundbreaking technology, enabling novel capabilities as it moves rapidly into the enterprise world. As enterprises adopt Generative AI, they must simultaneously mitigate inherent risks in areas such as ethics, bias, transparency, privacy and regulatory requirements.

• Module 7: Industry-based Gen AI Workshop and Self-Paced Tutorials

Module 7 offers participants an in-depth understanding of how Generative AI is being developed, applied, and deployed across different industries. By exploring real-world case studies, participants will gain valuable insights into the various ways businesses use AI to optimize operations, foster innovation, and address complex challenges. The module also features a self-paced revision section, enabling participants to review and strengthen key concepts from earlier modules. This flexible approach ensures participants are fully prepared for practical project work, equipping them to confidently apply their knowledge and skills to industry-specific projects.

• Module 8: Capstone Project

This capstone project provides participants with the practical skills to design and develop a Generative AI project through hands-on experience. Participants will gain expertise in documenting, communicating, and presenting project details and implementation plans to stakeholders. Additionally, participants will work collaboratively to create a comprehensive AI-driven Business Digital Transformation Plan, tailored to a department of their choice, including a responsible use policy to ensure ethical AI deployment.

As part of the requirement for Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA), there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment for each of the 10 modules in order to be eligible for programme funding and to be awarded the digital (SCTP) Advanced Certificate in Generative AI, Ethics and Data Protection issued by SMU Academy.
