Overview
Professionals no longer need technical expertise to master AI and leverage it as a competitive advantage. An AI professional is someone who is able to do due diligence, adopt and adapt a new generation of AI apps as well as use these applications within their organisations ethically and responsibly. Get ahead of the curve in understanding the use and best practice of generative AI.
By the end of the course, participants will have a solid understanding of the practical uses of GenAI, the ethical, discriminatory and privacy issues and how to use it responsibly. Participants will also have hands-on experience in developing a GenAI business digital transformation project plan (for a department of choice), with a responsible use policy, (where possible, you might work with an organisation for their Digital Transformation Project), under a capstone project.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the 20-week course, participants will be able to:
- Appreciate the potential benefits and issues of this new technology
- Apply Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) to business productivity applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, and email
- Learn to approach and use GenAI for different tasks in various organisational context
- Understand how GenAI is being used with various platforms and tools such as websites, apps, social media, etc
- Evaluate and improve the performance and quality of conversation prompts using language models such as ChatGPT
- Use data to augment GenAI models
- Handle ethical and data protection issues related to GenAI such as transparency, accountability, etc

To achieve the (SCTP) Advanced Certificate in Generative AI, Ethics and Data Protection, participants will need to complete the following modules in sequential order:

- (SCTP) Advanced Certificate in Generative AI, Ethics and Data Protection Module 4: Application of Generative AI in Digital Marketing
- (SCTP) Advanced Certificate in Generative AI, Ethics and Data Protection Module 5: Application of Generative AI in Learning Management
- (SCTP) Advanced Certificate in Generative AI, Ethics and Data Protection Module 6: Responsible Use and Ethical Management of Generative AI
- (SCTP) Advanced Certificate in Generative AI, Ethics and Data Protection Module 7: Industry-based Gen AI Workshop and Self-Paced Tutorials

Assessment
As part of the requirement for Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA), there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment for each of the 10 modules in order to be eligible for programme funding and to be awarded the digital (SCTP) Advanced Certificate in Generative AI, Ethics and Data Protection issued by SMU Academy.

A SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) top-up of $4,000 will be provided to Singaporeans aged 40 years and above to further offset out-of-pocket course fees for this programme.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.
This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.
