Who Should Attend

  • Team Leaders or Directors of Relationship Managers in a Private Bank

Overview

This course is designed for private bank team leaders to enhance their ability to lead their team in negotiations to achieve successful outcomes with clients.

This course will equip participants with the necessary skills to motivate and manage a team to negotiate with confidence, clarity, and effectiveness. It includes case studies that allow them to apply negotiation strategies, guidelines, and policies. The course focuses on developing the ability to plan, implement, and provide feedback on negotiations.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the 1-day course, participants will be able to:

  • Improve the chances of getting a win-win outcome with stakeholders/ clients, by focusing on “value”
  • Increase confidence in using the strategic negotiation process, frameworks & tools

Assessment

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by SMU Academy.

IBF - STS Funding

Standards Training Scheme

The IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS) provides funding for training and assessment programmes accredited under the Skills Framework for Financial Services. It is applicable for both Company-Sponsored and Non Company-Sponsored individuals.

For training programmes commencing from 1 Jan 2023:

  • Individuals must be physically based in Singapore.
  • Singapore Citizens and PRs will be eligible for 50% funding of direct training cost.
  • Singapore Citizens aged 40 years old and above will be eligible for 70% co-funding of direct training cost.
  • Funding amount is capped at S$3,000 per participant per course.
  • Course fees subsidies will not apply to self-sponsored individuals who are not employed by financial institutions and Singapore FinTech Association certified FinTech firms for critical core skills (generic /soft skills) and future-enabled skill only courses.
  • Trainees are only eligible for a one-time grant of course fee subsidies for the course per calendar year, subject to their successful completion of the course.

Her professional journey includes senior frontline and leadership roles at renowned institutions such as UBS, Julius Baer, DBS, and UOB — with a consistent focus on serving and mentoring high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) in Singapore and IndoChina markets. Throughout her career, Diana has cultivated deep expertise in wealth management, client advisory, and portfolio-based investment solutions. She has led teams of relationship managers, providing coaching on client engagement strategies, product structuring, and portfolio monitoring — all within a high-compliance environment. Her direct experience advising HNWIs has exposed her to equity market instruments and trading behaviors relevant to technical analysis concepts such as trend identification, support and resistance, and client timing strategies.

This course addresses the following Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) and proficiency level: 

  • Business Negotiation Proficiency Level 5

Participants are encouraged to access the IBF MySkills Portfolio to track their training progress and skills acquisition against the Skills Framework for Financial Services. You can apply for IBF Certification after fulfilling the required number of Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) for the selected job role.
