Who Should Attend
Public sector Clinicians, Nursing & Allied Health Professionals and Hospital Administrators with significant managerial responsibilities or demonstrate exceptional leadership potential in their course of work. Selected professionals from private healthcare sector and those from related sectors (e.g. non-profit, voluntary welfare organisations, ILTC sectors) are welcome to apply. Admission is on competitive basis and SMU and SingHealth reserve the right to refuse admission to any candidate without assigning any reason.

- have a bachelor’s degree; and
- hold a current position with significant managerial responsibilities or demonstrate exceptional leadership potential in their course of work.
Overview
The first and only programme of its kind in Singapore, the SMU – SingHealth GDHM aims to nurture highly competent and focused healthcare professionals into holistic and broadminded business leaders in the healthcare sector. The programme was conceptualised and co-designed by senior leaders from SMU and SingHealth.
Now into its 16th intake, participants can gain business, leadership and management capabilities, in addition to the latest insights and perspectives of the healthcare industry through the programme.

- Acquire an overview of the global healthcare landscape
- Explain and compare strategies that are employed by Singapore’s healthcare institutions vis a vis other international healthcare institutions
- Lead self and teams with mindfulness and confidence
- Formulate an action plan for change
- Apply marketing and branding concepts to raise customers / stakeholders’ satisfaction
- Apply economic and financial analysis to healthcare services
- Implement an operations improvement project
- Apply tools to manage and communicate information in a crisis

Certification
Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Management and Leadership by SMU and SingHealth
Participants must achieve at least 75% class attendance rate and pass 60% of the programme assessments. Participants who failed the first assessment will be required to sit for a supplementary assessment and each participant is allowed up to 1 supplementary assessment. Participants will be required to pay a fee of S$545.00 (incl. 9% GST) per supplementary assessment per module.
Certificate of Completion in Healthcare Management and Leadership (for individual module)
Participants must achieve at least 75% class attendance rate and pass 60% of the module assessments.

* Participants will not be granted a SMU-SingHealth GDHM upon completion of 6 individual modules at different timeframe. In order to qualify for the SMU-SingHealth GDHM, participants must meet the programme requirements and enroll for the full programme upon application.
Supplementary assessment fee at S$545.00 (incl. 9% GST from 2024) per module, up to 1 supplementary per person.
Lunch and refreshments for 2 tea breaks will be provided each day during the programme. Meals provided are “no pork no lard”. If you have special dietary requirements, please inform us accordingly.
SkillsFuture Level-Up Programme for Mid-Career Individuals (NEW)
A SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) top-up of $4,000 will be provided to Singaporeans aged 40 years and above to further offset out-of-pocket course fees for this programme.

INDIVIDUAL MODULE APPLICATION
For individuals who are interested in taking individual modules, please email us at cps@smu.edu.sg together with the supporting documents stated above.
Other Information
- Participants will not be granted a SMU-SingHealth GDHM upon completion of 6 individual modules at different timeframe. In order to qualify for the SMU-SingHealth GDHM, participants must meet the programme requirements and enrolled for the full programme upon application.
- Correspondences will be sent mainly by email. Please ensure that you check your email regularly.
- Application for the full programme will close on 19 May 2024.
- Application for individual module will close 1 month before the commencement date of the module.
- Successful applicants will be notified through email at least 2 weeks before the commencement date of the module.
Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) Module Waivers
Graduates of SMU-SingHealth Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Management and Leadership (GDHM) are eligible for 2 module waivers (finance and ops) in the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program. Please note that there is no fee reduction for the EMBA associated with the module waivers.
