There are no prerequisites for this programme. Prior knowledge on any of the topics is not required.
Overview
GameFi is the latest innovation where crypto and gaming congregate to form a whole new genre of play-to-earn games. The Metaverse has allowed the incorporation of blockchain technology into GameFi, disrupting the gaming industry. In this module, participants will learn the concept of setting up a business in the Metaverse and its endless possibilities through an interactive approach.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
- Understand the concept of GameFi and its relation to the Metaverse
- Learn how the traditional gaming industry has been disrupted by GameFi
- Learn about the current landscape of GameFi in the Metaverse
- Learn how to navigate GameFi - what materials to prepare
- Gain an overview of business opportunities in various industries for GameFi in the Metaverse
- Discover how GameFi can serve as channel for the Creator Economy
- Discover how the the Creator Economy can benefit from the GameFi and Metaverse industry
- Discover how to utilise GameFi as a marketing channel for GameFi policies and regulations of GameFi (e.g., Crypto ad networks)
- Analyse the challenges and potential pitfalls relating to GameFi
- Discover the future of GameFi and the Metaverse and how it will be formed
- Learn about key business metrics on how success is measured in the Metaverse
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
