There are no prerequisites for this programme. Prior knowledge on any of the topics is not required.
Overview
This certificate programme aims to provide a deeper understanding of the Metaverse and equip participants with the essential knowledge of the benefits, challenges and rules and regulations associated with funding and setting up of businesses in the Metaverse and marketing a business in the Metaverse. This programme will also touch on the innovations in GameFi, the use of non-fungible tokens as a branding tool, the emerging technologies in the fields of chatbots and AI, decentralised content platforms and Web 3.0 technologies.
Topic/Structure
To achieve the Advanced Certificate in Metaverse and Artificial Intelligence, participants will need to complete the following modules offered by SMU Academy:
- Module 1: Discovering Marketing in the Metaverse
- Module 2: Funding and Setting Up Businesses in the Metaverse
- Module 3: Shaping Our Future: GameFi and Metaverse
- Module 4: NFTfi (NFT Finance) and the Use of NFT in Brands
- Module 5: AI and Chatbots: Understanding ChatGPT and its Applications
- Module 6: Web 3.0 and the Future of Content and Media
- Module 7: Data Management, Privacy and Regulations in Web 3.0 and Digital Future
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment for each of the 7 modules within 3 years in order to be awarded the digital Advanced Certificate in Metaverse and Artificial Intelligence issued by Singapore Management University.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.
This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
