Who Should Attend
Financial services professionals as well as technologists who wish to have a solid understanding of the current FinTech landscape, relevant regulations, RegTech use cases, and the risks and opportunities that come with the digital revolution.
PREREQUISITES
Participants should preferably have taken Module 2 of the Advanced Certificate in RegTech programme.
Overview
RegTech uses technologies such as advanced analytics, robotic process automation, cognitive computing and the cloud to achieve regulatory and compliance outcomes more efficiently and effectively. It is easy to get carried away with new technologies that ultimately don’t deliver. Most financial organisations’ use of RegTech is in its infancy and obstacles lie in the way. But RegTech has the potential to improve service and protection for customers and to help restore trust in the industry.
The overall objective of Module 3 and 4 is for participants to experience how data and innovation-driven approaches can transform compliance into a competitive advantage. Module 3, in particular, focuses on the opportunities and challenges related to automation, digitalisation, data life-cycle management and AI/ machine learning.
Learning Objectives
- Be familiar with digitalisation approaches that are changing the way risk management and regulatory compliance requirements are addressed
- Have an appreciation for data quality assurance, data life-cycle management and machine learning best practices
- Be familiar with the basics and learn about the potential of state-of-the-art AI/ machine learning, decision sciences, and network sciences approaches with respect to various use cases such as fraud detection, fraud prediction and AML
- Be familiar with lessons learnt from building, deploying and managing real-time fraud detection and prediction solutions
- Learn how to utilise recent technology advances to build better transaction laundering and anti-money laundering solutions
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.
