Overview
There is no single assessment tool that is a perfect predictor for job performance. However, research has shown that professional success is determined by an individual's curiosity, ability to keep learning and adapt to changes as well as their willingness to own the career progression process.
Each module focuses on integrating vital components to enhance each participant's professional success.
Topic/Structure
This programme consists of 6 modules:
- Module 1: Proactive and Learnability Capability
- Module 2: Performance and Adaptability Capability
- Module 3: Transformational Leadership Capability
- Module 4: Coaching and Mentorship Capability
- Module 5: Change Management Capability
- Module 6: Forward Thinking Capability
Programme Structure
Participants may either attend the full programme or only selected module(s).
Leveraging on SMU’s distinctive pedagogy for interactive, discussion driven and thought provoking seminar-style teaching, we aim to provide our participants with the ability to translate the learning and insights into practice at the workplace. A variety of teaching methods such as experiential learning, role plays, case discussions, presentations, exercises and oral questioning will be employed by the programme’s faculty in the training sessions. There will also be an individual assessment at the end of every module which serve to assess a participant’s understanding of the subject matter.
Assessment
Participants have to meet a minimum attendance rate of 75% and have to complete all assessment(s) required by the course. Only upon meeting the minimum attendance and passing the assessment will participants be issued a Certificate of Completion.
Participants who fail the assessment will be given a chance for re-assessment at a fee of SGD100.00 (excluding prevailing GST). Each participant is allowed 1 re-assessment. The re-assessment has to be taken within 7 calendar days from the end of the course date. It will be held on a weekday specified by SMU Academy and conducted during office hours. Please note that re-assessment fees are not supported by SSG Funding.
Participants who meet the minimum attendance rate but do not achieve a pass for the assessment will be issued a Certificate of Participation.
Participants are required to bring their laptop to access the course materials, class exercises and individual assessment(s).
In order to be awarded with "Advanced Certificate in Talent Assessment and Performance Development", participants are required to complete all 6 modules within 2 years.
