PREREQUISITES
- A Bachelor's Degree; or
- A Diploma with at least 3 years of working experience
- Basic knowledge in Finance and/or relevant working experience in the finance sector
- Comfortable dealing and working with multiple mathematical formula
Overview
This course introduces participants to several trading platforms, in particular, OANDA and Interactive Brokers, and teaches participants how to effectively use its functions. Learn to select and utilise the right trading platform that offers market insights, real-time data and analytics.
Participants will also learn to monitor risk and manage margin calls, as well as manage cash flows as part of the learning experience to be attuned to trading platforms.
Learning Objectives
- Understand and identify the basic platform features required by any professional proprietary trader/ investor
- Utilise these features to effectively operate a proprietary trading or investment business
- Understand the concept, advantages and disadvantages of leverage
- Understand how leverage is offered through the products and services of financial intermediaries
- Understand the concept of mark-to-market accounting, the importance of monitoring P&L and its interaction with margin requirements
- Monitor risk and manage margin calls effectively using simple risk policies
- Manage cash flows prudently to ensure the operations are optimally capitalised whilst benefiting from leverage

Assessment
An assessment will be conducted at the end of each module.
CERTIFICATION
Upon meeting the attendance and assessment criteria, participants will be awarded a digital certificate for participating in each module. Please refer to our course policies to view the attendance and assessment criteria.
Upon completion of all modules required for this programme within a maximum duration of 3 years, participants will be awarded a digital certificate.
