Finance and accounting professionals who are seeking to equip themselves with the know-how in order to perform higher-level tasks that are increasingly expected of them


PREREQUISITES

There are no prerequisites for this programme. Prior knowledge on any of the topics is not required.

Overview

This workshop aims to provide practical knowledge of the activities involved in fundraising for corporations as private companies and public companies. It also reviews the process of planning for and achieving a successful IPO and finally, it covers key aspects of corporate restructuring resulting from mergers & acquisitions, management buyouts (MBO), leveraged buyouts (LBOs), privatisations and financial distress.

The topics covered include:

  • Fund Raising (Pre-IPO – Private Companies)
  • Fund Raising (Post IPO: Listed Companies)
  • The Initial Public Offering (IPO) Process
  • Corporate Restructuring (Mergers & Acquisitions, MBOs, LBOs, Privatisations and Financial Distress

Assessment

As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman

With a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) from Singapore University, he has held senior roles globally, including as Regional Financial Director of Molex Inc and President & CEO of Crescendas MEC. Active in the community, he serves as Chairman of Singapore Khalsa Association Board of Trustees, Vice President of Central Sikh Gurdwara Board, and Chairman of Sikh Centre, Singapore. Currently, he is an Adjunct Faculty at Singapore Management University, teaching Corporate Financial Management.
