Overview
Comprehensive wealth planning is the key to taking care of one’s wealth for the long term and for current and future generations.
As a Private Banker, wealth planning involves a thorough review of HNWI’s finances and gives specific advice on any particular aspect of their wealth planning current and future needs.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the basic wealth planning objectives of HNW clients and explain the value of wealth planning solutions
- Understand the legislation and principles of relevant laws that impact wealth planning
- Understand insurance as a tool to achieve wealth planning objectives
- Work with specialists to design WP solutions with identified planning considerations
Topic/Structure
- Understand the common wealth planning needs for high net worth clients such as asset preservation, succession planning, mobility planning and philanthropy
- Refine your approach to overcome clients’ objections, initiate wealth planning conversations
- Understand when and how to work collaboratively with appropriate specialists in order to provide the best wealth solutions to clients
- Learn common tools used in wealth planning such as wills, joint accounts, trusts and foundations, private investment companies and insurance
- Develop an understanding of the law and regulatory environment that impact and govern the possible wealth solutions available to the clients
- Introduction to recent regulatory changes such as AEOI, CRS, FATCA and others
Assessment
At the end of the course, participants will be assessed on their competencies acquired through the learnings via a quiz.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

IBF - STS Funding
Standards Training Scheme
The IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS) provides funding for training and assessment programmes accredited under the Skills Framework for Financial Services. It is applicable for both Company-Sponsored and Non Company-Sponsored individuals.
For training programmes commencing from 1 Jan 2023:- Individuals must be physically based in Singapore.
- Singapore Citizens and PRs will be eligible for 50% funding of direct training cost.
- Singapore Citizens aged 40 years old and above will be eligible for 70% co-funding of direct training cost.
- Funding amount is capped at S$3,000 per participant per course.
- Course fees subsidies will not apply to self-sponsored individuals who are not employed by financial institutions and Singapore FinTech Association certified FinTech firms for critical core skills (generic /soft skills) and future-enabled skill only courses.
- Trainees are only eligible for a one-time grant of course fee subsidies for the course per calendar year, subject to their successful completion of the course.
