PREREQUISITES
There are no formal prerequisites for enrolment in this programme. As this programme is conducted in English, participants should be proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Overview
Participants will explore key principles of Science of Learning, and how these principles support adult, workplace-based learning in a professional setting, and how tech tools can be used to support engagement, retention, and transfer of learning. Through real-world examples, the course introduces a range of technology-enabled and AI-enhanced approaches, while also addressing ethical considerations and data privacy.
Participants will apply their learning through experiential, blended, and inquiry-based approaches. They will design and facilitate learning experiences that combine face-to-face and digital modalities and leverage digital tools for collaborative inquiry and research. At the end of the course, participants will be able to design a workplace learning module that integrates Science of Learning principles with technology and AI in a responsible, learner-centred way, aligned to the needs of adult learners and organisational contexts.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day course, participants will be able to:
- Apply principles from andragogy and Science of Learning to design effective, experiential, and applicable workplace learning experiences
- Design blended learning experiences that integrate Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support self-directed learning, personalisation and assessment
- Facilitate inquiry-based and experiential learning activities using digital and AI-enabled resources to promote workplace learning

Assessment
As part of the requirement for Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA), there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.
This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
