- A Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of working experience; or
- Recognition of prior learning: A Diploma from MOE-recognised Institutes of Higher Learning with at least 10 years of relevant work experience
- As part of the admissions process, suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview
Overview
The Industry Graduate Diploma in AI-Enabled Workplace & Workforce Transformation aims to help business leaders and Human Resource (HR) managers take charge of one of the most critical challenges in the AI era: redesigning jobs, work, and teams so technology delivers real performance gains.
Participants learn how to decide what to automate, what to augment, and where human judgment remains essential, while reshaping roles, workflows, and learning to keep pace with rapid change. Blending AI literacy with emotional intelligence, leadership judgment, change leadership, and Return-on-Investment (ROI) driven learning, the programme equips managers to lead AI-enabled transformation with confidence, credibility, and measurable impact.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 24-day course, participants will be able to:
- Acquire tools and framework to redesign work and workflows to improve speed, quality, and decision‑making
- Apply coaching, mentorship and transformational leadership practices to build trust, align stakeholders, and move teams from compliance to commitment
- Acquire literacy in Artificial Intelligence (AI) architecture to ask the right questions, assess feasibility and risk, and partner effectively with Information Technology (IT) / data leader to make workforce transformation possible and credible
- Integrate AI, design thinking, and innovation into agile practices, including discovery, iterations, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and end‑to‑end delivery, to help teams move from solving the right problems to delivering better outcomes
- Link job redesign and workplace learning to tangible performance indicators, enabling them to justify investments, prioritise initiatives, and communicate impact in business
Topic/Structure
To achieve the Industry Graduate Diploma in AI-Enabled Workplace & Workforce Transformation, participants must complete either an Integrated Learning Project or Enrichment Workshops and/ or Networking Sessions, as well as the following certificates offered by SMU Academy:

The programme employs a blend of multi‑modal formative activities and summative assessments designed to reinforce learning through application and reflection. Activities and assessment methods may include collaborative group work, facilitated discussions, scenario‑based analyses, group presentations, reflective practice, and individual written submissions, supporting participants in translating concepts into actionable insights for themselves and their organisations.
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module as well as an overall Industry Graduate Diploma exam. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
CERTIFICATION
Upon completion of the following within 2 years:
- The required IGD modules,
- The Integrated Learning Project (ILP) or Enrichment Workshops and/ or Networking Sessions and,
- Passing the overall IGD exam
Participants will be awarded an Industry Graduate Diploma in AI-Enabled Workplace & Workforce Transformation.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.
This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.

Employer Sponsored
Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
