Who Should Attend

  • Team Leaders in Private Banking Sector

Overview

This course is intended for team leaders who already have foundational rules and regulations knowledge. The course objectives are to expand prior knowledge in this subject to a management level.

Participants will review and validate customer integrity and acceptance suitability through review of Know Your Customer, Anti-Money Laundering, Customer Due Diligence (KYC/ AML/ CDD) checks and fraud assessment findings. Topics include client acceptance and onboarding procedures, and post-account maintenance procedures. Participants will discuss case applications in class. 

Learning Objectives

  • Acquire knowledge under Level 4 of Client Acceptance Checking and Onboarding TSC
  • Demonstrate the abilities under Level 4 of Client Acceptance Checking and Onboarding TSC

Assessment

At the end of the course, participants will be assessed on their competencies acquired through the learnings via a quiz.  

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

With effect from 3 October 2022: IBF-STS funding of training courses under the Critical Core skills and Future-Enabled skills categories will only be available to locals (Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents) employed in the financial sector (i.e. by financial institutions or SFA certified FinTech firms).

IBF - STS Funding (For courses commencing from 1 Jan 2023 onwards)

Standards Training Scheme

IBF-STS Funding of 50% is available to eligible institutions and qualified individuals, subject to meeting the attendance requirement and passing of assessment. The IBF-STS funding is subject to a cap of S$3,000 per participant per programme. 

Singapore Citizens aged 40 years old and above will be eligible for 70% co-funding of direct training costs.

The IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS) provides funding for training and assessment programmes accredited under the Skills Framework for Financial Services. It is applicable for both Company-Sponsored and Non Company-Sponsored individuals.

Jay has 18 years of private banking experience, assisting Ultra High Net Worth China clients with their private banking and corporate needs. In 2007 he worked for ING Private Bank (now Bank of Singapore) and in 2008 he joined Credit Suisse (now UBS). In 2006, he graduated from SMU Bachelor of Business Management, spent a year in Europe on exchange with full scholarship. He was SMU Sports Union 1st President in 2004 and also founded SMU Rock Climbing club in the same year. In 2013 he was awarded a Credit Suisse study award to do Masters of Science in Wealth Management.

  • Customer Acceptance Checking and Onboarding Level 4

Participants are encouraged to access the IBF MySkills Portfolio to track their training progress and skills acquisition against the Skills Framework for Financial Services. You can apply for IBF Certification after fulfilling the required number of Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) for the selected job role.
