Overview

This workshop aims to provide practical knowledge of the activities involved in fund raising for corporation’s as private companies and public companies. It also reviews the process of planning for and achieving a successful IPO and finally it covers key aspects of corporate restructuring resulting from mergers & acquisitions, management buyouts (MBO), leveraged buyouts (LBOs), privatisations and financial distress.

Fees and Funding

SkillsFuture Series 

Course fee grant at 70% of course fees (excluding GST) for participants who are successfully enrolled by SMU into approved courses under the Programme. Participants must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.

SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy ("MCES")
Up to 90% of course fees for Singapore Citizens aged 40 years and above

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs ("ETSS")
Up to 90% of course fees for employees of SMEs who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents

Workfare Training Support Scheme ("WTS")
Up to 95% of course fees for Singapore Citizens aged 35 years and above (13 years and above for persons with disabilities) earning a monthly income of not more than S$2,000.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above, and self-funding may use their SkillsFuture Credit (up to S$500) to defray part of the course fee. Please click User Guide on how to submit your claim. SkillsFuture Credit claims may be submitted by logging in via MySkillsFuture.sg.

Absentee Payroll

Speaker/Trainer Bio

Mr Gurdip Singh
Adjunct Faculty, School of Accountancy
Singapore Management University

Gurdip Singh was President & CEO of Crescendas MEC Group since its inception in 1992 till 2012, when its business was sold to an SGX listed company. Over the 20 years, he set up manufacturing plants in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China. His excellent ability to use his financial skills in general management and manufacturing operations provided a good platform, which enabled Crescendas MEC to receive 5 consecutive Enterprise 50 Awards (Singapore’s 50 most promising private companies) from 1998 to 2002.

Over the past 30 years, since graduating from Singapore University with a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) degree, he has built up his experience both in the finance and senior management areas in Singapore, Australia, Japan, USA, Malaysia and Thailand; ranging from Regional Financial Director of Molex Inc (a US MNC) to President & CEO Crescendas MEC (a home grown regional manufacturing group), and during this period he has gained extensive international exposure.

He is also an active community leader as the Chairman of Singapore Khalsa Association Board of Trustees, Vice President of Central Sikh Gurdwara Board and Chairman of Sikh Centre, Singapore.

Gurdip Singh is currently an Adjunct Faculty, teaching Corporate Financial Management, at the Singapore Management University.
