Overview
Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are emerging as key enablers in helping enterprises strengthen operational resilience, improve decision-making, and support climate adaptation strategies at scale.
This course explores how digitalisation and AI function as core enablers of climate adaptation and resilience. Participants will examine AI applications in predictive climate modelling, supply chain risk management, infrastructure optimisation, automation, and emissions reduction.
The course also introduces key considerations in data architecture, governance frameworks, machine learning applications, and the integration of AI into sustainability operating models. Emphasis is placed on translating digital capabilities into measurable adaptation value and connecting technical AI concepts with executive and enterprise decision-making.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
- Understand climate adaptation from an enterprise optimisation perspective, distinguishing it from sustainability reporting, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) compliance, and long-term climate mitigation narratives
- Develop a shared conceptual understanding of digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence (AI), clarifying their distinct but complementary roles in improving enterprise visibility, decision-making, and operational performance
- Assess the impact of climate volatility and resource constraints on enterprise operations, assets, and workforce
- Evaluate sustainability as a design constraint, shaping optimisation and strategic decisions across the organisation
- Develop a shared framework and language to interpret climate adaptation and digital transformation concepts across industries, functions and professional backgrounds
Assessment
As part of the requirement for Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA), there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion.
