As AI continues to reshape the workforce, many professionals face growing uncertainty about job displacement and the need to continually upskill. Existing job platforms primarily focus on job matching but offer limited guidance on long-term career development or personalised learning pathways. SkillBridge was developed to address this gap by providing AI-powered career recommendations tailored to each user's skills, experience, and career aspirations.
Built as a full-stack application using AI-assisted development tools including Claude Code, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Figma Make, and Lovable.dev, the platform enables users to upload their CVs, extract and verify skills, assess career readiness, identify skill gaps, and receive personalised job matches and upskilling recommendations. It also integrates live job listings and course recommendations to provide actionable career pathways.
Overall, the project demonstrates how AI can responsibly support career planning by combining data-driven recommendations with human-centred design and oversight. As a career decision-support tool, SkillBridge helps individuals make more informed employment and upskilling decisions while complementing, rather than replacing, professional career guidance.
