Overview
In this course, participants will learn to use generative AI, specifically ChatGPT, as a personal assistant for written communication in the corporate world.
We will learn how to effectively instruct ChatGPT, use it to generate ideas, produce initial drafts, finesse your language, and to enhance the clarity and flow of writing products. We will also try discuss how to perform post-editing on ChatGPT generated writing to add the voice, tone, and touch that aligns with your brand or professional values.
We learn best by experience; so this course is built to be highly interactive. Through class discussions and hands-on activities, we will practice generating and editing common business writing tasks like emails, proposals, presentations, and minutes using the principles learned.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day course, participants will be able to:
- Be familiar with ChatGPT, what drives it, its functions, features, interface and applications
- Know how to navigate the features and settings of ChatGPT; be able to use ChatGPT to generate targeted writing products
- Learn techniques and strategies for using ChatGPT as a writing partner to improve productivity and to write correctly and effortlessly
- Apply these techniques and strategies to common business writing tasks such as emails, proposals, presentations and meeting minutes
- Perform appropriate and effective post-editing on ChatGPT generated texts depending on the requirements and purposes of the generated writing products
- Understand the limitations and ethical challenges surrounding the use of ChatGPT in business, and how to overcome and mitigate these
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.
