Clearly Write is an immersive two-day course designed to equip you with the principles and techniques of clear, concise, and persuasive writing. 

Through interactive discussions and writing exercises based on real-life scenarios, you will engage in a dynamic learning experience.

Each course participant will receive a copy of the bestselling writing guidebook, "Clearly Write - Win Your Readers Over with Clarity and Concision" authored by the instructor.

This comprehensive resource includes practical writing templates to support your learning journey.

Participants are required to bring their laptops for the writing exercises.

Assessment

As a requirement set by SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment of the learning attainment of participants conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or a classroom exercise.

Participants must attain at least 75% attendance and pass the assessment to receive a Certificate of Completion, which is issued by Singapore Management University. The certificate is in digital form.

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman

Professor Lim Soo Ping
Former Auditor-General of Singapore
Professor Lim Soo Ping
Former Auditor-General of Singapore

Lim Soo Ping is a former Auditor-General of Singapore, and a former professor of accountancy in SMU. 

 

A Colombo Plan scholar, he is also a public speaker on leadership, corporate governance, human capital, ethical decision-making and communication. His audience includes private and public companies, and non-profit organisations. 

 

Prof is recognised for his ability to write and speak with marked clarity and persuasiveness. 

 

He authored three books, two of which are on communication and became The Sunday Times bestsellers, namely, “CLEARLY WRITE - Win Your Readers Over with Clarity and Concision” , and "CLEARLY SPEAK - Articulate with Confidence, Civility and Courage”. 

 

Prof Lim was featured in live radio interviews on CNA 938 and Money FM 89.3 on the subject of speaking. 

 

He also authored an opinion piece, “Speaking to the Heart is Good Business”, in The Business Times (22 July 2024). 

 

Prof Lim is an accredited Specialist Adult Educator under the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL).
