Overview

Listening to social media by keeping an eye on the levels of buzz and sentiment will help you detect issues that may impact your organisation.

Online monitoring can help you proactively avoid and diffuse problems that may severely impact your business.

This module aims to walk participants through how social media monitoring is a crucial aspect of managing a crisis situation. The conversations being transacted in the online space will have an impact on the opinions, reputation and influence of the organisation pre-, during and post-crisis. Being able to navigate, engage and take control of the online chatter will require an understanding of the tools available and how to best utilise them. Participants will learn from real-life case studies and have the opportunity to engage with industry experts on how social media platforms and conversations can be turned into an effective tool for crisis monitoring.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:

  • Understand and analyse the social media landscape

  • Identify the social media listening tools available
  • Make sense of the data and assess risk and possible engagement strategies

Assessment

As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.
