Overview
From multi-agent orchestration frameworks like LangGraph and CrewAI to new interoperability standards such as Google’s Agent2Agent (A2A) and Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), the global ecosystem is advancing quickly. Companies across finance, healthcare, logistics, and government are already deploying “digital workers” to handle compliance, customer support, and data-intensive workflows — often reporting major productivity gains.
This Advanced Certificate in Agentic AI prepares professionals to thrive in the new era. Over 12 days, participants will learn to design, build, and govern agentic AI solutions using no-code or low-code tools, API sandboxes, and real-world case studies, empowering more to lead responsible AI adoption in their organisations.

Learning Objectives
- Explain Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) fundamentals and differentiate agentic AI from generative AI and automation, and describe its key paradigms, benefits, and limitations.
- Understand the technical building blocks and grasp the essentials of ML, NLP, LLMs, RAG, and function calling that power modern AI agents, without requiring deep coding.
- Design effective agent workflows and translate business pain points into agent missions, map workflows with human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and select appropriate tools and platforms.
- Build and test working agents, use no- or low-code tools and APIs to configure, debug, and optimise an AI agent that solves a real-world task.
- Apply across industries and analyse cross-industry case studies, adapt designs to participants’ domains, and create phased rollout roadmaps with measurable ROI.
- Implement governance and safety, develop policies, guardrails, and monitoring practices to ensure PDPA compliance, explainability, and ethical operation of agents.
- Communicate, drive adoption and present business cases for agentic AI, engage stakeholders, and champion responsible AI adoption within organisations.
Topic/Structure
To achieve the Advanced Certificate in Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI), participants will need to complete the following modules offered by SMU Academy:
- Module 1: Foundations of Agentic AI: Concepts and Paradigms
- Module 2: Data and Language for Agentic AI: Fundamentals of Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing
- Module 3: Designing Practical Agentic AI Solutions
- Module 4: Implementing Agentic AI Across Industries
- Module 5: Building Your Own AI Agent: Tools, Platforms, and Best Practices
- Module 6: Governance, Safety, and Ethical Management of Agentic AI
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment for each of the 6 modules within 3 years in order to be awarded the digital Advanced Certificate in Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) issued by SMU Academy.
