Overview

In this module, participants will develop a good understanding of China’s most popular social media tool WeChat, with 1.2-billion active users monthly. Participants will learn how to setup an official WeChat, understand the different types of accounts and its usage, and craft different types of contents that appeal to Chinese consumers, tips on finding Chinese consumers, and community engagement to covert users into your loyal customers.

At the end of the class/ workshop, participants will gain practical insights and experience the power of the WeChat marketing, and how it can be implemented into their businesses to improve customer service and support business expansion.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the 1-day programme, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the most popular social tool in China WeChat, and how it can help in your business expansion 
  • Learn various cost-effective marketing tips to acquire target customers through WeChat Marketing 
  • Gain hands-on experience on the usage of most essential tool in China, WeChat, to expand your sales channels and build solid relationship with clients

Topic/Structure

  • Overview of WeChat and its importance and relevance for your business
  • Understand the different types of WeChat accounts and select the right one for your business
  • Understanding WeChat user demographics, behaviours and market analysis
  • Learn to create killer content that attract and draw your target audience
  • Learn paid and unpaid marketing tactics to increase followers, leads and converts
  • Learn how to engage customers within 48 hours using WeChat’s Customer Relationship Management System
  • Learn how other businesses achieved effective outcomes through WeChat marketing

Assessment

As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of the course. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.

Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment in order to receive a digital Certificate of Completion issued by Singapore Management University.

Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)

  • Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
  • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
  • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman

He has successfully partnered clients from SMEs to MNCs to gain entry and expand into the China market using Digital Marketing Tools such as WeChat, Weibo, Baidu, Douyin, etc.

Hendrick has more than 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. Along with project and event management, he is also known for his ability to create innovative technology-based products and systems. Hendrick was previously in an MNC where he set up Business-to-Business online platforms, and customised solutions for consumer products and services. He was also leading a team in a Statutory Board to develop strategic social media products and national programmes in the Health and Wellness sector.
