Participants should have at least a diploma and two years of work experience.
Overview
By exploring common types of fraud and effective prevention methods, participants will develop insights into implementing robust internal controls and monitoring systems. They will also delve into corporate governance on directors' fiduciary duties and legal obligations, learning to manage potential liabilities through best practices in risk compliance and governance. The module addresses challenges related to fraud prevention and directors' liabilities, emphasising their impact on operational integrity and reputation. Participants will acquire practical strategies for managing fraud risks, leveraging expert advice, and enhancing governance frameworks to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain customer experience management in trust and confidence, leading to an ethical culture. By the end of the module, participants will be equipped with practical guidance on selecting the most suitable fund set-up option tailored to specific requirements, investment strategies, and investor preferences.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the 2-day course, participants will be able to:
- Explore how corporate governance can be implemented within asset management for regulatory compliance framework against fraud prevention
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of common frauds and effective prevention methods
- Discuss essential practical considerations to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain customer experience management in trust and confidence, leading to an ethical culture
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
Participants are required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance and pass the associated assessment for each of the 6 modules within 3 years in order to be awarded the digital Advanced Certificate in Fund Establishment issued by Singapore Management University.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.
This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.

Employer Sponsored
Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
