Overview
As digitalisation continues to shape the workplace – from remote working capabilities, surveillance tools, to algorithmic decision-making etc. – what are the potential legal issues that may arise for employers with respect to the Recruitment and Management aspects of Employment Law? How should employers consider other digitalisation-related issues, such as employees’ social media usage or data privacy etc?
Additionally, with increased digital collaboration and the use of digital tools, what are the potential legal issues that may arise? For example, how should employers determine what acts constitute cyber-bullying or cyber-harassment and hence misconduct? Can employers use remote surveillance in their due inquiry? With employees becoming more educated about their rights and the landscape potentially becoming more litigious, employers must relook their compliance processes with fresh lens.
