Who Should Attend

Leaders, Business Managers, Human Resource Professionals and Individuals keen on continuous skills development

Overview

ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and climate change feature among the top three board priorities, according to the 2023 survey of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). As ESG takes centre-stage within the board agenda, HR leaders will be called upon to play a pivotal role in shaping the enterprise sustainability strategy. Therefore, it is imperative for Human Resource leaders to keep abreast of key sustainability topics as part of their professional development journey, and arm themselves with the specialised knowledge required to earn a “seat at the table” as a strategic business partner.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the two-day module, participants will be able to:

  • Interpret internationally adopted ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and carbon-reporting standards such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG) Scopes 1, 2 and 3
  • Integrate the ESG agenda into talent management strategies and programmes such as office management, hiring, performance management, succession planning and rewards
  • Develop a sustainability-centric brand-building and stakeholder communication strategy in partnership with their public relations/corporate marketing peers.

Topic/Structure

Day 1:

  • ESG Essentials and emerging evidence linking ESG to shareholder and stakeholder value
  • Identifying material ESG topics for your organisation
  • ESG reporting standards and rating frameworks

Day 2:

  • ESG and talent management practices
  • Perspectives on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)
  • Building an authentic corporate sustainability brand
  • Role of Human Resources in enterprise ESG implementation
