Who Should Attend
Middle to senior level executives who wish to:
- enhance their leadership and people management skills and
- extend their competencies to lead with purpose.
Pre-requisites
Participants should:
- be a Head of Department or senior business executive with more than 5 years of significant direct report managerial responsibilities,
- business leaders who demonstrate exceptional leadership potential in their course of work; and
- have direct reports.
Admission requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of working experience; or
- Recognition of prior learning: A Diploma from MOE-recognised Institutes of Higher Learning with at least 10 years of relevant work experience
- As part of the admissions process, suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview
Overview
This is a programme dedicated to equipping leaders for enhanced performance to drive organisation success in a complex and digital world.
Learning Objectives
- Develop and apply strategic thinking to lead organisations through innovation, transformation, and change in dynamic environments
- Review and implement effective performance and talent management practices that align with organisational goals and foster high-performing teams
- Communicate with clarity, presence, and purpose to inspire, influence, and engage diverse stakeholders across organisational levels
- Utilise analytics and evidence-based approaches to support strategic decisions in leadership, operations, and talent development
- Cultivate personal well-being, cognitive agility, and adaptive leadership to thrive in complex, fast-evolving business landscapes
Topic/Structure
To achieve the Industry Graduate Diploma in Leadership and People Management, participants must complete either an Integrated Learning Project or 16 Enrichment Workshops and/ or Networking Sessions, as well as the following certificates offered by SMU Academy:
- Executive Certificate in Leadership and People Management
- Analytics for Management Decisions
- Purpose Driven High Performance Organisation Module 4: Leadership Communication with Presence, Passion and Purpose
- Train Your Brain: How to Improve Brain Health and Thrive After 45
- The Chief Innovation Officer Programme: Designing and Leading Innovative Organisations
Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module as well as an overall Industry Graduate Diploma exam. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
CERTIFICATION
Upon completion of the following within 2 years:
- The required IGD modules,
- The Integrated Learning Project (ILP) or 16 Enrichment Workshops and/ or Networking Sessions and,
- Passing the overall IGD exam
Participants will be awarded an Industry Graduate Diploma in Leadership and People Management.

SkillsFuture Level-Up Programme for Mid-Career Individuals
A SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) top-up of $4,000 will be provided to Singaporeans aged 40 years and above to further offset out-of-pocket course fees for this programme.

Self Sponsored
SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.
This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.

Employer Sponsored
Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
- Trainees are eligible for ETSS funding only if their company's SME status is approved prior to the course commencement date. To verify your SME's status, please click here.
