PREREQUISITES
- Basic qualification with an equivalent to Certificate in Exercise Science programme.
Overview
This module focuses on customising fitness programmes for specific groups of people so they can include healthy practices in their various lifestyles. Participants will learn how these groups differ from the general population, and understand the needs from exercise to nutrition, to design a holistic programme that can benefit them in the long run.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the biochemical and physical differences that special populations (seniors, children, pregnancy, chronic illness/ joint pain) have from regular, healthy adults
- Design holistic training and nutrition programmes for these different populations that will give the best long-term result with minimum risk
Topic/Structure
- Be able to build programmes suitable for the population
- Learn safer and more effective nutrition, exercise and supplementation options for various situations
- Understand the physical and neurological development of children
- Understand health considerations for senior and pregnant populations

CERTIFICATION
Upon meeting the attendance and assessment criteria, participants will be awarded a digital certificate for participating in each module. Please refer to our course policies to view the attendance and assessment criteria.
Upon completion of all modules required for this programme within a maximum duration of 3 years, participants will be awarded a digital certificate.
NROC members can earn up to 10 Continuing Coach Education (CCE) hours after completing all 6 modules of Professional Certificate in Fitness Training Programme.

- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
