Admission requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of working experience; or
- Recognition of prior learning: A Diploma from MOE-recognised Institutes of Higher Learning with at least 10 years of relevant work experience
- As part of the admissions process, suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview
Overview
The programme integrates leadership excellence, strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, conflict management, talent development, transformation leadership, collaboration, alliance building, and business model innovation to develop versatile leaders who can navigate complexity and drive sustainable growth.
Participants will learn to combine technological awareness with human-centred leadership, leverage data and AI for decision-making, build high-performing organisations, and architect innovative business models that create long-term competitive advantage. Through applied learning and practical business challenges, the programme prepares leaders to accelerate organisational transformation while strengthening resilience, adaptability, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
The Industry Graduate Diploma in Versatile Future Excellence is a collaboration between SMU Academy and Universal Stage (UStage), a consultancy-based training company, to equip leaders with the versatile capabilities to lead their people and enterprises in a digitalisation-enabled future.

To achieve the Industry Graduate Diploma in Versatile Future Excellence, participants must complete either an Integrated Learning Project or Enrichment Workshops and/ or Networking Sessions, as well as the following certificates offered by SMU Academy:

Assessment
As part of the requirement for SkillsFuture Singapore, there will be an assessment conducted at the end of every module as well as an overall Industry Graduate Diploma exam. The mode of assessment, which is up to the trainer’s discretion, may be an online quiz, a presentation or based on classroom exercises.
CERTIFICATION
Upon completion of the following within 2 years:
- The required IGD modules,
- The Integrated Learning Project (ILP) or Enrichment Workshops and/ or Networking Sessions and,
- Passing the overall IGD exam
Participants will be awarded an Industry Graduate Diploma in Versatile Future Excellence.

SkillsFuture Level-Up Programme for Mid-Career Individuals
A SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) top-up of $4,000 will be provided to Singaporeans aged 40 years and above to further offset out-of-pocket course fees for this programme.

SkillsFuture Credit
Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. The credits may be used on top of existing course fee funding.
This is only applicable to self-sponsored participants. Application to utilise SkillsFuture Credits can be submitted when making payment for the course via the SMU Academy TMS Portal, and can only be made within 60 days of course start date.

Employer Sponsored
Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS)
- Organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Trainees must not be a full-time national serviceman
