Internationalisation Series FAQ
Airfare is not included. Accommodation is provided as part of the programme. Selected lunches will be arranged; however, the majority of meals will be on a self-pay basis. Transportation for official programme activities will be included.
Yes, attendance at the pre-departure briefing is mandatory as it constitutes part of the required training hours stipulated by SkillsFuture Singapore.
Participants may inform the Programme Manager of any room-sharing preferences. However, as course fees are determined by SkillsFuture Singapore, no discounts can be extended, even in cases of shared accommodation.
To be eligible for ETSS funding:
- Your organisation must be registered or incorporated in Singapore.
- It must have an employment size of no more than 200 employees or an annual sales turnover not exceeding $100 million.
- Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course.
- Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents, and must not be full-time national servicemen.
- ETSS funding is available only if the company’s SME status is approved prior to the course commencement date.
The Workfare Skills Support (WSS) Scheme has been enhanced from 1 July 2023. Eligible participants may receive further support for their course fees. For detailed information on eligibility and claims, participants should refer to the official WSS resources.
Yes, Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the course fees. These credits may be used on top of any existing course fee funding. This option is available only for self-sponsored participants. Applications to use SkillsFuture Credits must be made through the SMU Academy TMS Portal within 60 days from the course start date.
Companies sponsoring their employees for the course may apply for absentee payroll support. The application process differs for SME and non-SME companies, and detailed guides are available to assist with the process.
To apply for absentee payroll support:
- Non-SME companies should refer to the AP Guide (Non-SME Companies)
- SME companies should refer to the Declaration Guide (SME Companies)
Applications must be properly submitted along with supporting documentation as outlined in the respective guides.
Participants are advised not to make any travel arrangements or purchase air tickets until they have received the official programme enrolment confirmation email.
Hotel details will be communicated approximately one month prior to departure.
Yes. All learners are required to purchase their own travel insurance that covers the full duration of their Internationalisation Series programme. Proof of insurance may be requested before departure. This ensures you are adequately covered for any unexpected events while overseas.
